Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

This week we celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday!

The Cat in the Hat helped us do our jobs,

helped us graph our favorite Dr. Seuss books,

enjoyed a red/white patterned snack with us,

helped us spell “Cat in the Hat” words,

introduced us to Dr. Seuss computer games,

and ate Truffula Tree seeds with us! YUM!

After hearing the story of “One Fish, Two Fish”, we estimated how many goldfish crackers were in a container! 333! Ava was closest and WON!

After hearing “Green Eggs and Ham”, we enjoyed some!

All of us liked them!!! (4 had said “no”, but changed their minds after tasting!!!)

We watched “Yertle the Turtle” and

stacked up our own turtles!

After hearing “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas”,

we tried to get him to smile with acts of kindness!

We showed everyone the love of Jesus!

Mrs. Wilson showed us how the Grinch’s heart grew so much bigger! (using baking soda and vinegar!)

Fun centers included: making a Truffula Village with lego buildings and trees,

reading Dr. Seuss books in our Reading Nook,

listening to his books,

printing words from our favorite Seuss books,

(SO many rhymed!),

we hid and found Wockets,

sorted Seuss colors and shapes,

and played a Math addition game with Truffula trees!

Thank you, God, for Dr. Seuss, and all of his wonderful books!
